We did it together!
What started as a simple goal to collect 200 jars of nut butter turned into something incredible!
Thanks to our amazing Mindful Bites families, friends, and community partners (HungerMitao), we raised $7,633 and donated 1,204 lbs (over 900 jars) of peanut butter to the — enough to help provide 24,000 meals for families across DFW.
From weekly team calls and going door-to-door to running booths and education sessions, every effort made a difference. ❤️
Thank you for being part of this journey!
Mindful Bites is a community organization aimed at kids & youth, focusing on educating them about the importance of good health, proper nutrition, and mental wellness through engaging and interactive sessions. The program's name signifies a dual focus on healthy eating ("Mindful Bites") and fostering a positive mental attitude ("Minds"), suggesting a holistic approach to well-being.
Mindful Bites aims to be more than just an initiative; it seeks to be a movement that sparks a lifelong commitment to health and wellness among children, supported by their families and the broader community.
Nutritional Education: Interactive workshops and fun activities designed to teach children about the benefits of eating a balanced diet, understanding food groups, reading food labels and making conscious and healthier food choices.
Mental Wellness: Introducing concepts of mindfulness and stress management through age-appropriate activities, including how food affects our mood.
Community Engagement: Involving parents, teachers, and local health professionals in various aspects of the program to create a supportive community around the children. This could include interactive learning for students, informational sessions for parents, and other activities.
